About Kayla

Kayla is a fun loving, adventurous, warm hearted young woman who is extremely passionate and dedicated to her voice acting craft. She has spent the last few years studying with private coaches, attending conferences and workshops, and pouring hours into independent practice. Much of her work has been in the commercial, eLearning, and narration fields, with some splashes of character work here and there.

For a little over a decade, Kayla was a music student and went on to study music education. This background has carried over into her voiceover career by aiding her ears to hear musicality, intonation, and tone within scripts and dialogue, and has even landed her a few singing parts.

Kayla has been described by her peers as “badass human sunshine,” and she strives every day to live up to that title by working hard and being a light in the world. She holds herself to high standards in order to present her clients and audiences with top notch work, and is constantly challenging her creativity to breathe life into new characters and the stories her voice carries.

Fun Facts

Breaker of Chains

Kayla earned herself the nickname “Khaleesi” several years ago due to her platinum blonde hair and resemblance to the Mother of Dragons. She did a full Daenerys Targaryen cosplay at a convention and was given the honor of posing with guests on the Iron Throne. Seriously, even her Starbucks baristas write Khaleesi on her cups.

Dice Goblin

When it comes to collecting things, there is no limit for Kayla’s evergrowing dice hoard. She began playing Dungeons & Dragons a few years ago with a group of friends, and was a Dungeon Master for Adventure League at her local game shop. She has since gained several of the player manuals, campaign guides, miniatures, and lots and lots.. and lots of dice.

It's Dangerous to Go Alone

At the age of four, Kayla began playing games on the Super Nintendo. When she was seven years old, her dad introduced her to Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The Zelda franchise has remained her favorite game series to this day. Kayla served six years as a GameStop manager, and actively plays on all the current systems, but Nintendo remains her go to.

A+ Music Student

Kayla discovered her musical talent when she joined her middle school band playing the clarinet. Over the years, she consistently held first chair, was drum major of her high school marching band, placed in Mid- and All-State bands, was involved in numerous other music groups including ladies show choir, piano, and advanced music theory. She was awarded a prestigious leadership award at her high school graduation out of a class of 550.

Girl's Best Friend

All her life, Kayla has had pets of all sorts: dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, turtles.. but it was always her dream to have a husky as her faithful companion. In March 2020 after the tornadoes devastated the better part of her home state, a lone husky was left abandoned in the storm. Fates collided and Kayla rescued her extra fluffy friend, Naga, who she named after Korra’s polar bear dog.

Water.. Earth.. Fire.. Air..

Bending Element: Fire

Avatar the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra are two of Kayla’s favorite cartoon series of all time. They have both been very influencial on her career, and she takes inspiration from much of their cast.

Expecto Patronum

Hogwarts House: Slytherin

Kayla was in second grade when the first Harry Potter book was released. Her teacher read the class one chapter a day, even though it was against the school’s “no witchcraft” rules. Those worlds have stuck with her ever since, and were the reason she enjoyed reading at a young age. She can’t wait to be able to enjoy an ice cold Butterbeer again.

In the Name of the Moon

First Anime: Sailor Moon, as was most 90s babies. Kayla liked to pretend she was a Sailor Guardian when she was young.

Favorite Anime: Cowboy Bebop and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Even years after they ended, they still have some of the best stories, art, soundtracks, and of course voices.
